Job summary

McShane Construction Company LLC is seeking a Field Engineer to support on-site project execution. You will assist the Project Superintendent with daily supervision, safety compliance, and coordinating subcontractors to meet timelines and budgets.

The role requires hands-on site presence, strong reading of drawings, and proficiency in construction management software. We value leadership, organization, and clear communication with clients and partners to drive project success.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years’ experience in Construction Management.
• Proficient with Salus, PlanGrid and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Valid U.S. Driver’s license and authorization to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Superintendent in overseeing daily construction site operations and activities.
• Coordinate and monitor subcontractor and supplier performance to ensure compliance with project specifications and schedules.
• Enforce safety protocols and company policies to maintain a secure work environment.
• Conduct regular site inspections to ensure work quality and adherence to plans and standards.
• Support the Project Superintendent in documenting site progress and holding site meetings.

As a Field Engineer, you provide essential support to the execution of building projects. The Field Engineer is responsible for assisting the Project Superintendent with on-site supervision, ensuring safety compliance, coordinating subcontractors, and supporting project timelines and budgets.

This position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, cell phone allowance, and all company-sponsored employee benefits, including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with match and profit sharing, student loan assistance, and PTO.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Superintendent in overseeing daily construction site operations and activities.
• Coordinate and monitor subcontractor and supplier performance to ensure compliance with project specifications and schedules.
• Enforce safety protocols and company policies to maintain a secure work environment for all personnel. Perform regular safety audits as outlined by McShane Construction
• Conduct regular site inspections to ensure work quality, cleanliness, and adherence to plans and standards.
• Support the Project Superintendent in holding site meetings, maintaining logs, and documenting site progress.
• Facilitate timely delivery and storage of materials, tools, and equipment.
• Identify and report potential issues, risks, or discrepancies to the Project Superintendent promptly.
• Develop quality control correction list in construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Assist with the implementation of project schedules and adjust as directed to address project needs.
• Foster positive relationships with clients, architects, engineers, and inspectors on site.
• Poses a solid understanding of construction methods, safety regulations (OSHA), and building codes.
• Proficient in reading drawings, site plans, and technical drawings.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to solve problems, multitask, and adapt to changing priorities.
• Basic computer skills, with proficiency in construction management software.
• Willingness to work the hours necessary to complete the project on time. Work hours are not the typical 8-5. Work hours may include early mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed to meet project deadlines.

Requirements

• 0-2 years’ experience in Construction Management
• Ability to effectively communicate with clients, design consultants and trade partners.
• Fully proficient with construction management software including Salus, PlanGrid and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Full-time, in-office position.
• Valid U.S. Driver’s License required.
• Authorization to work in the U.S. required.
