Job summary

Ryan Companies US, Inc. in Austin, TX is seeking an entry-level Field Engineer reporting to the Superintendent. This role trains you in field and office operations and ties these activities to the physical construction of a project.

You will assist with shop drawing coordination, material purchasing, inventory, schedule tracking and subcontract oversight while gaining practical experience on a live project through hands-on collaboration with the project team.

Qualifications

• 4-year college degree required, preferably in construction related field.
• Ability to assume responsibility and interface with project team.

Responsibilities

• Shop drawing coordination.
• Office/field support staff.
• Estimating and quantity take off.
• Purchase necessary materials to complete assigned tasks.
• Maintain material and equipment inventory at project site.
• Schedule monitoring and updating.
• Monitor assigned subcontracts, subcontractor schedules relative to material deliveries and subcontractor manpower.
• Significant involvement in preparing billings and reviewing invoices.
• Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.

This position has the objective of educating the employee in field and office operations and to show the relationship of those efforts to the physical construction of the project.
