Ryan Companies US, Inc. is seeking an entry-level Field Engineer in Chicago to assist the project team from site to office operations. You will learn field coordination, scheduling, material procurement and billing while contributing to the successful completion of a designated project.

Work closely with the Superintendent and Project Manager, developing hands-on skills in construction processes and project documentation within a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• 4-year college degree required, preferably in construction related field.
• Ability to interface with project team and coordinate across office and field.
• Willingness to learn field operations and project governance.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate shop drawings to support construction activities.
• Provide office and field support to project teams.
• Assist with estimating and quantity takeoffs.
• Purchase materials and manage site inventory.
• Monitor schedule and subcontractor progress relative to deliveries.
• Support billing and invoice review processes.

Job Description:

The Field Engineer is an entry level position reporting to the Superintendent with indirect reporting to the Project Manager, assisting the project team in the completion of a designated project. This position has the objective of educating the employee in field and office operations and to show the relationship of those efforts to the physical construction of the project.

Some things you can expect to do:

• Shop drawing coordination.


• Office/field support staff.


• Estimating and quantity take off.


• Purchase necessary materials to complete assigned tasks.


• Maintain material and equipment inventory at project site.


• Schedule monitoring and updating.


• Monitor assigned subcontracts, subcontractor schedules relative to material deliveries and subcontractor manpower.


• Significant involvement in preparing billings and reviewing invoices.


• Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
