Power Design, Inc. seeks a Field Engineer to work at our job sites under supervision of a Superintendent and project team. You will learn all business aspects of running large electrical construction projects and support the team through every phase, from installation to final owner acceptance.

This role emphasizes safety, collaboration with senior team members and customers, and using MS Office tools to manage project deliverables.

Qualifications

  • College degree in construction or related field, or 4+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Ability to learn business aspects of running large-scale construction projects.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills; proficient with MS Office.

Responsibilities

  • Gain firsthand experience of electrical installation scopes across project stages.
  • Support project deliverables to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Coordinate schedules, labor forecasts, inventory, and project correspondence on site.
  • Interact with customers and trades; represent the organization in the field.
  • Assist with startup, commissioning, AHJ inspections, and owner acceptance.

About the PositionPower Design is a nationwide electrical contractor and our Field Engineers are working locally on our jobsites, cultivating their career by experiencing our projects firsthand. Under the supervision and mentorship of a Superintendent and project team, you will learn all of the business aspects of running large-scale construction projects. It is a perfect fit for motivated, driven individuals to quickly grow in the organization.Position ResponsibilitiesGain firsthand experience of the electrical installation scopes of work including decks, rough, trim, and distribution.Play a key role in helping the project team succeed by providing support with project deliverables throughout all phases of construction, ensuring accuracy and quality.Help to continue and build our culture of safety onsite by recognizing safety hazards and ensuring corrections.Collaborate with senior team members, suppliers, and contractors to coordinate schedules, manage the labor forecast, inventory, material, and project correspondence (orders, timesheets, etc.).Interact with customers and other trades while representing the organization in the field.After receiving training in our state-of-the-art facility, utilize cutting-edge technology to assist on assigned projects.Serve as the lead between Systems PMs and Operations installation teams, playing a key role through final project startup/commissioning, AHJ inspection, and final owner acceptance.Be responsible for scheduling the low voltage startup, managing planned technician hours, and coordinating the technician and commissioning labor.Here’s What We’re Looking ForCollege graduate with a construction-related degree, or individual with 4+ years of relevant work experience.Detail-oriented professional with the ability to quickly solve problems, who loves new challenges and is seeking a defined career path.Strong communication and organizational skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).Demonstrate and uphold all of Power Design’s core values, which include integrity, accountability, teamwork, innovation, and growth.At Power Design, we are committed to providing an environment of mutual respect where equal employment opportunities are available to all applicants and teammates without regard to race, color, religion, sex, pregnancy, national origin, age, physical and mental disability, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, genetic information, military and veteran status, and any other characteristic protected by applicable law.
