Job summary

Responsible supporting the Superintendent in planning and management of the respective project’s field activities. Responsibilities include trade preparatory and coordination meetings, maintaining schedule, planning, and ensuring safety compliance, conformance with the design documents and assuring quality work.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Primary duties and responsibilities include the following:

  • Studies specifications to plan procedures for construction on basis of starting and completion times and staffing requirements for each phase of construction.
  • Reviews subcontractor scopes of work.
  • Orders materials to be delivered at specified times to conform to work schedules.
  • Confers with and directs supervisory personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting specifications, and coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delays under the guidance of the Superintendent.
  • Inspects work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and the adherence to construction schedules.
  • Reviews Procore daily reports on progress, materials used and costs, and adjusts work schedules as indicated by reports.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or 2 - 5 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
