Acadian Ambulance Service in Louisiana seeks a diligent EMT-Basic to provide pre-hospital basic life support and safe medical transportation. You will assess patients, administer BLS, and document care during EMS runs, while maintaining equipment and following protocols.

The role requires current EMT-Basic and CPR certifications, a valid Louisiana driver’s license, and strong communication skills for effective team coordination and patient interaction.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• National and/or State EMT-Basic certification.
• Current CPR certification.
• Current and valid state-issued driver’s license (Louisiana Class D).
• Ability to read, write and communicate professionally.
• Knowledge of department protocols and safety policies.
• Ability to drive large vehicles.

Responsabilités

• Examine patients for signs of illness or injury and assist other medical personnel as needed.
• Provide basic life support prior to and during transport within licensure limits.
• Handle patients carefully and transfer to the ambulance safely.
• Transport patients to the medical facility safely and efficiently.
• Document patient condition and treatment on EMS run reports.
• Maintain and inventory EMS equipment and supplies.
• Operate the ambulance following company driving guidelines and FCC regulations.
• Report needed repairs and coordinate with maintenance and supervisors.
