Job summary

Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital Corporation seeks an EMT to transport patients between appointments and through care transitions at our Cambridge site. You will spend time with patients during emotionally charged moments, delivering care with heart and a human-first approach in a hospital setting.

Shifts are 12 hours (6:00 AM–10:00 PM) with weekend pick-up opportunities. Per Diem employment, driving responsibilities, and a strong patient‑care focus define this role.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. Trade/Technical/Vocational Diploma may be accepted.
  • EMT certification is required.
  • BLS/EMT licenses as listed in the posting.
  • Experience: EMT 0–1 year preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality patient care during transport.
  • Safely operate and maintain ambulances and medical equipment.
  • Assist with discharges and facility transfers professionally and respectfully.
  • Accurately document patient care.

Qualifications
Education

High School Diploma or Equivalent required or Trade/Technical/Vocational Diploma Emergency Medical Technician required

Licenses and Credentials
  • Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] - Data Conversion - Various Issuers required
  • Emergency Medical Technician [EMT License] - Generic - HR Only required
  • Emergency Medical Technician [NREMT-Basic] - National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) preferred
  • Class D Passenger Vehicle Driver's License [State License] - Generic - HR Only preferred
Experience

EMT Experience 0-1 year preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Demonstrated ability to implement clinical care in accordance with outlined policies and procedures.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license in the state of practice.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment while working in a stressful environment.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to bend, pull, push, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful and crisis situations.
