Job summary

i2G Systems is seeking an Electronics Security Service Technician to install, service and maintain CCTV/IP cameras, access control, intrusion alarms, and related low-voltage equipment. You will diagnose issues, perform preventive maintenance, and provide on-site and remote support to ensure systems operate reliably and safely.

The role requires working in the field, reading blueprints and wiring diagrams, and collaborating with project managers and engineers to resolve complex issues.

Qualifications

• Experience with electronic security systems (video, access, intrusion).
• Strong understanding of IP networking, switches, PoE, and basic routing.
• Ability to use diagnostic tools (multimeter, cable tester, laptop-based utilities).
• Knowledge of low-voltage wiring standards and installation best practices.
• Strong problem-solving and customer-service skills.
• Ability to work independently in the field.
• Valid driver's license; ability to lift equipment and work on ladders.
• Bonus points for Data Center Experience.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and test CCTV/IP camera systems, NVRs/VMS platforms, and networked security devices.
• Install and service access control systems (card readers, door hardware, controllers, biometrics).
• Diagnose and repair intrusion alarm systems, sensors, panels, and communication modules.
• Perform preventive maintenance, system inspections, and firmware/software updates.
• Run, terminate, and label low-voltage cabling (Cat5/6, coax, fiber).
• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical schematics.
• Provide on-site and remote technical support to customers and internal teams.
• Document service activities, parts used, and system configurations.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, company policies, and local regulations.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and vendors to resolve complex issues.
