Job summary

Fluidstack in Austin, Texas seeks a commissioning engineer to stand up and oversee electrical distribution commissioning for mission-critical data centers. You will write and run test scripts, supervise NETA testing, and verify results from Level 2 through Level 5 systems on site.

Collaborate with vendors, ensure testing meets schedule pressures, and push reliability and safety. Bonus: MV/HV experience, EPMS, protective relay testing, and a PE license.

Qualifications

• Experience commissioning electrical systems on mission critical facilities.
• Able to read protection studies and coordination curves.
• Experience running megawatt-scale load bank testing.
• Able to hold vendors to test standards under schedule pressure.
• Bonus: MV and HV systems, EPMS platforms, protective relay testing, PE license.

Responsibilities

• Commission electrical distribution from utility interface to rack: switchgear, UPS, generators, and EPMS.
• Write and run test scripts covering protection, transfer schemes, and failure scenarios at full load.
• Oversee NETA testing and vendor startups, verifying results rather than filing them.
• Run integrated systems tests proving the site rides through utility events the way the design says it will.
