Job summary

CDR Maguire Inc. in Providence, RI seeks an experienced electrical inspector to perform inspections across the Providence area for highway construction and maintenance projects.

You will verify installations conform to the National Electric Code and the National Electric Safety Code, and assess wiring, grounding, poles, transformers, and street lighting. A Rhode Island Class B journeyman electrician license, a high school diploma or GED, and a valid driver's license are required.

Qualifications

• Must hold a RI Class B journeyman license and a HS diploma or GED.
• Strong knowledge of NEC and NESC requirements for electrical installations.
• Ability to read and interpret complex wiring plans and specs.
• Experience inspecting highway or utilities electrical projects is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Inspect electrical installations for compliance with NEC/NESC.
• Verify street lighting, transformers, conduits, and wiring are correctly installed.
• Assess grounding, fusing, and controller equipment in accordance with specs.
• Collect data from test runs and prepare defect/recommendation reports.
