Job summary

Electrical Reliability Services, Inc. in Charlotte, NC seeks a Graduate Engineer to perform testing and maintenance of electrical power distribution systems, troubleshoot relays, calibrate equipment, and conduct switchgear tests up to 15 kV.

You will generate detailed reports and support project billing, with frequent travel. Candidates should have a BSEE/BSME (or equivalent) and NEC/OSHA/NFPA knowledge; experience with test equipment and the ability to write professional proposals.

Qualifications

• Graduate Engineer with BSEE/BSME or equivalent
• Exposure to NEC, OSHA, NFPA standards
• Experience with testing of switchgear to 15 kV class
• Ability to write detailed project reports and assist with billing
• Willing to travel up to several weeks domestically and internationally

Responsibilities

• Perform all aspects of testing and maintenance of electrical power distribution systems.
• Troubleshooting capabilities, simple relay calibration, use of load recording instrumentation, low and medium voltage switchgear testing through 15 kV class.
• Test and troubleshoot moderately complex electrical systems, simple relay systems and power metering.
• May perform simple power system studies including short circuit and protective device coordination.
• Write complete, detailed reports promptly at end of project using a computer, and accurately process job billing.
• May perform complex analysis and evaluative tasks for equipment labeling projects per standards and company procedures.
• Take an active role in business development and expansion.
• Prepare written job proposals including estimates of man-hours and expenses, scope, pricing, and provide advice.
