Job summary

Knight Material Technologies in Houston, TX seeks an EHS Field Coordinator to help ensure compliance with federal, state, local, client, and company environmental, health, and safety requirements. This role partners with operations, project teams, and field personnel to integrate safety into planning and execution.

The ideal candidate has strong regulatory knowledge, field presence, and effective communication across all levels.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
• Strong regulatory knowledge of OSHA and environmental regulations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and safety documentation.
• Associate degree or higher in Environmental Safety or related field, or 5+ years of relevant experience.
• MSHA certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead a positive safety culture by mentoring and interacting with employees at all levels.
• Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, local, client, and company EHS requirements.
• Guide supervisors, management, and employees on regulatory and policy expectations.
• Implement EHS policies, procedures, and routine inspection schedules.
• Maintain required EHS programs, records, and documentation.
• Review and evaluate EHS policies, programs, and procedures for effectiveness and gaps.
• Identify opportunities to improve EHS programs and safety culture.
• Communicate safety findings and trends to management.
• Exercise stop-work authority when conditions present immediate risk.
• Support safety onboarding and schedule project-specific training and compliance training.
• Ensure the company training calendar remains current and accurate.
• Support EHS compliance in the Houston fabrication shop, warehouse, and office facilities.
• Conduct routine inspections to identify safety, health, and environmental risks.
• Coordinate field safety inspections, risk assessments, and JHAs.
• Monitor safety indicators to reduce risk across field operations.
