Job summary

Gallagher Bassett is seeking an experienced in-field Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Consultant to provide safety leadership on construction, industrial, and technology projects across the United States. You will partner with project teams, craft personnel, and owners to promote a strong safety culture and ensure OSHA compliance.

Responsibilities include conducting daily safety observations, investigating incidents, and preparing risk-based reports while coaching teams on safe work

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) experience in construction, industrial, or similar environments.
• Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety compliance programs.
• Experience conducting field audits, inspections, and training.
• Ability to communicate with project managers, supervisors, crews, and clients.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and electronic safety reporting systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily field safety observations, inspections, and audits.
• Identify hazards and work with project teams to implement corrective actions.
• Monitor contractor compliance with OSHA regulations and site safety requirements.
• Lead or participate in incident investigations and root cause analyses.
• Prepare safety reports for clients and stakeholders.
• Facilitate toolbox talks and employee training sessions.
• Review JHAs/AHAs, permits, and safe work plans.
• Support high-risk activities such as fall protection, LOTO, confined space, and electrical safety.
• Serve as liaison between workers, supervisors, subcontractors, and clients.
