Job summary

H. T. PROF Group in Pensacola, FL is hiring a Project Engineer for highway and bridge work. You will support project management and field operations on roadway, bridge, drainage and infrastructure projects, with much DOT work.

This role offers hands-on field exposure, collaboration with owners and subcontractors, and a clear path to Project Manager within a large national contractor.

Candidates should have 3+ years of heavy civil experience and a BS in Civil Engineering to qualify.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of engineering experience on heavy civil, highway, road, bridge, drainage or utility projects.
• Strong RFI, submittal, documentation, cost tracking and schedule exposure.
• Ability to read plans, specs and contract documents.
• EIT or PE is a plus. Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support project managers and superintendents on active heavy civil projects.
• Handle RFIs, submittals, drawings, transmittals, approvals and project documentation.
• Track cost, quantities, production, materials, equipment and schedule updates.
• Schedule work activities and material deliveries with the field team.
• Assist with budgets, forecasts, cost reports and change orders.
• Communicate with owners, subcontractors, vendors, field crews and project leadership.
• Review drawings, specifications and contract documents.
• Spend 20 to 30 percent of your time in the field, seeing the work get built.
• Support safety, quality and contract compliance.
