Job summary

Frontline Source Group seeks an experienced Industrial Construction Drafter to join a well-established team in Itasca, Texas. The role moves drawings from field measurements and initial concepts through detailed 2D drawings and 3D models for fabrication and installation.

The position splits time between office drafting and occasional site work, using AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor, and requires coordination with project management, engineering, fabrication, and field crews.

Qualifications

• 2–3+ years of drafting experience in industrial construction, mechanical design, fabrication, manufacturing, or similar environments.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD required; Autodesk Inventor experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to develop and modify both 2D drawings and 3D models from field data and project specs.
• Ability to obtain accurate field measurements and translate conditions into drawings and models.
• Willingness to travel to project locations as needed (travel ~1 week per month).

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed 2D drawings and 3D models for industrial construction and fabrication projects.
• Produce fabrication and installation drawings using field measurements, existing models, sketches, and specs.
• Visit project locations to obtain field measurements and document conditions.
• Translate field data into accurate drawings and models.
• Prepare and maintain drawings related to structural steel, supports, foundations, embeds, and equipment installations.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, fabrication personnel, and field teams.
