Job summary

Glass Roots Construction (GRC) is seeking a high-performing Construction Manager to lead underground fiber optic utility projects from inception to completion. You will be the primary driver of project profitability, client relationships, and operational excellence while mentoring field teams across West/Central Texas.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 3 years’ experience working with and around directional drilling crews in utility construction.
• Proven supervisory experience is required.
• Strong reading of construction drawings/prints and terminology.

Responsibilities

• Operational Oversight: Manage day-to-day construction activities of a fiber optic utility network.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure safe practices with internal and subcontract crews.
• Field Engagement: Working in the field with crews 75–100% of the day.
• Field Verification: Verify progress with utility locator for depth and offsets.
• Data Collection: Gather photos, bore logs, and other QC data.
• Quality Assurance: Apply quality metrics to meet specs.
• Flexibility: Rotate to night shifts as needed.
