Job summary

TRC Companies, Inc. is hiring a Distribution Technician II in the Power Distribution Engineering team, serving Arlington and surrounding areas.

You will perform manual/visual inspections of overhead and underground distribution facilities, collect field data, and prepare minor work orders. The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of electric utility experience, strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in the field about 70% of the time.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of related electric utility experience.
• Demonstrated communication skills with clients and internal teams.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to self-check work.
• Experience working with customers/contractors in person and by phone.
• Proficiency with standard workplace software tools (Microsoft Office).
• Willing to work in the field 70% of the time.
• Must have a valid driver license.

Responsibilities

• Log completed work on poles using Oncor’s Excel spreadsheets.
• Record start/completion dates, pole specs, crossarm specs, transformer actions, arrester actions, and notes for clarification.
• Visit work points to verify work or review contractor-provided pictures.
• Manage and track multiple circuits/feeders, prioritizing weekly checks.
• Adapt to FCC workflows and review weekly spreadsheets or verify work via pictures.
• Provide general FCC support, including file retrieval from Oncor’s Maximo system.
• Keep spreadsheet work up to date before other duties.
• Maintain clear communication with contractor and FCC for timely completion.
