Job summary

TRC, Member of WSP, seeks a Distribution Technician to inspect power distribution poles for clients, within our Power Distribution Engineering team. The role covers visual inspection of overhead and underground facilities, data collection, and maintenance report preparation.

This position supports storm damage assessments, field data gathering, and design sketching, with emphasis on safety and adherence to industry standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• NESC familiarity or utility experience preferred.
• MS Office knowledge/experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Design and prepare construction orders for overhead/underground facilities per prescribed standards.
• Prepare layouts of overhead/underground electric distribution facilities following standards.
• Prepare design sketches, cost estimates, BOMs and reports for construction and maintenance.
• Assist in load studies on distribution transformers and investigate overloads/voltage issues.
• Contact landowners/agents to negotiate Rights of Way (easements) and collect tax map info.
• Prepare and submit required reports and correspondence.
• Assist in acquiring field data and gathering information from field notes.
• Digitize, copy and scan drawings, prints and maps; update design activities in systems.
• Follow Code of Safe Practices per company safety policies.
