Job summary

United Rentals is seeking a Field Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech III - Field Service) to perform safe maintenance and repair of complex rental equipment at customer sites in Lubbock, TX. You will travel to job sites, service equipment, and maintain thorough documentation of work performed daily.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of repair/maintenance experience, a strong mechanical background, and own their needed tools. A valid driver’s license is required and lifting up to 45 lbs is expected.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• 3–5 years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment and tools.
• Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools.
• Strong mechanical background knowledge of various engines.
• Must own tools applicable to position.
• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills.
• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform safe maintenance and repair of complex rental equipment (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, diesel systems).
• Travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance of rental or customer owned equipment; keep service vehicle clean and professional.
• Assist in training lower level technicians as needed.
• Maintain paperwork (work orders) in a complete and timely manner.
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment and parts.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
