Job summary

United Rentals is seeking a Field Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech III - Field Service) in Westlake, LA. You will perform safe maintenance and repairs on diesel equipment, traveling to customer sites and supporting the field service team with training and documentation.

The role emphasizes superior customer service, teamwork, and adherence to safety policies. Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of hands-on repair experience, own necessary tools, and strong mechanical knowledge of engines.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent required.
3–5 years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment and tools.
Strong mechanical background and ability to work with diverse engines.
Must own tools applicable to position.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Safe maintenance and repair of complex rental equipment across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems.
Travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance; maintain a clean, professional service vehicle.
Assist in training of lower level technicians as needed.
Maintain paperwork/ work orders accurately and timely.
Assist with pickup and delivery of equipment and parts.
Other duties as assigned.
