Job summary

United Rentals in Westlake, LA is seeking a Field Diesel Mechanic - Customer Equipment Solutions (Service Tech III - Field Service - CES) to maintain and repair customer-owned equipment with minimal supervision, focusing on safety and quality.

You will document work orders, demonstrate equipment to customers, travel to sites, assist with parts delivery, and support the Service Department while delivering exceptional customer service.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• 3–5 years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment.
• Must own tools applicable to position.
• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills.
• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.
• Knowledge of construction equipment and engines.

Responsibilities

• Safe maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on customer equipment.
• Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work orders daily.
• Upsell and demonstrate a wide array of complex equipment for customers.
• Travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance; keep service vehicle clean.
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts.
• Other duties assigned as needed.
