Job summary

United Rentals is the world’s largest equipment rental provider seeking a Field Diesel Mechanic - Customer Equipment Solutions. You will perform maintenance and repair on customer-owned equipment, often with little supervision, and support service leadership pathways.

You will travel to customer sites, document work orders, upsell equipment, and maintain a professional service vehicle. Strong mechanical skills and tools are essential in this fast-paced role.

Qualifications

• Must have advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of various engines.
• Knowledge of construction equipment and strong mechanical background.
• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills.
• Must own tools applicable to position.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on customer equipment with minimal supervision.
• Maintain paperwork/electronic work orders in a timely, complete manner.
• Upsell and demonstrate a wide array of equipment to customers.
• Travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance; keep service vehicle clean and professional.
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment and parts.
• Other duties as assigned.
