As a Field Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech IV - Field Service), you’ll perform maintenance and repairs on complex equipment with limited or no supervision, in a highly skilled, safe, and professional manner. You will have opportunities for personal growth and leadership within our Service Department. We rely on you to provide exceptional customer service.

What You'll Do

1. Maintain and repair complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on rental and customer equipment, using independent judgment.
2. Travel to customer sites for repairs and maintenance; keep your service vehicle clean and professional.
3. Assist in training lower-level technicians.
4. Maintain documentation of work performed daily.
5. Assist with equipment and parts pick-up and delivery.
6. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

1. High School diploma or equivalent.
2. Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
3. 5+ years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment and tools.
4. Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of tools.
5. Extensive knowledge of construction equipment, schematics, and diagrams.
6. Own tools applicable to the position.
7. Excellent customer service, teamwork, and communication skills.
8. Ability to lift items up to 45 lbs frequently.

This position is deemed Safety Sensitive under United Rentals’ policies.

Compensation Range: $30.20 - $45.25
