Job summary

Cape is seeking Forward Deployed Engineers to embed with federal and enterprise customers, delivering Cape's privacy-first mobile core capabilities from prototype to operational deployment.

The role requires 2+ years in a software/forward deployed engineering role, Mandarin fluency, and willingness to travel up to 50% across the Asia-Pacific region. You will bridge customer needs with product and engineering, shaping the roadmap and delivering tangible results.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in a software or forward deployed engineering role.
• Fluency in Mandarin Chinese (spoken and written).
• Based in the Asia-Pacific region or willing to relocate/travel there.
• Demonstrated ability to scope ambiguous problems, sequence delivery, and prioritize without explicit instructions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; capable of briefing officials and writing clear engineering tickets.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical delivery of Cape's products into federal/national security/enterprise environments from prototype to operation.
• Embed with customer teams worldwide to understand workflows, threat models, and constraints.
• Configure, integrate, and tune Cape's mobile core capabilities for deployments.
• Lead customer exercises, pilots, and demonstrations to produce decision-quality evidence.
• Provide hands-on technical support during live operations and drive preventive fixes back into the platform.
• Prototype new features in the field and validate with real mission use, collaborating with core engineering teams.
