Job summary

Impellam Group is seeking a field-based onsite liaison with 75-90% travel. The role requires a technical background and comfort with on-the-road assignments, PPE, and jobsite safety standards.

You will install and support databases, ensure data availability and security, and collaborate with IT management and clients to optimize technology use while frequently traveling.

Strong communication, problem-solving, and adaptability are essential for success in this mobile, customer-facing position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or related discipline or 6 years of related experience.
• 1-3 years of work experience in addition to degree.
• Experience with database languages (T-SQL, PL/SQL, Python) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install and support database management systems.
• Adhere to department best practices while delivering high-level customer service.
• Support databases across production, staging, and QA environments.
• Manage availability, access, and security of data assets.
• Consult with IT management and clients to optimize use of technologies.
• Improve database maintenance, monitoring, security, backup, recovery, and performance techniques.
• Provide database expertise and leadership to the development team.

Job description

Field-based position serving as an onsite/field liaison with 75-90% travel associated with the role. PPE will be required, with lots of walking involved. The successful candidate should have a technical background and may have prior experience with light project management. Intergrader/installer experience is highly valued; candidates should be comfortable being on the road and familiar with jobsite safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Installation and support of database management systems
• Adhere to best practices within the department while delivering high-level customer service
• Support production, staging, and/or quality assurance databases
• Manage availability, access, and security of associated data assets
• Consult with IT management and clients to identify and recommend opportunities for better utilization of technologies
• Improve business application systems, business area operations, or infrastructure operations through enhanced database maintenance, monitoring, security, backup, recovery, performance, and integrity techniques
• Provide technical database expertise and leadership to the development team

Requirements - education & experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, OR 6 years of related business experience
• 1-3 years of work experience in addition to degree

Required skills

• Experience with sequential query language or equivalent in one or more database platforms' native programming languages (e.g., T-SQL, PL/SQL, Access SQL, Python)
• Experience in file structures, design, retrieval, and access methods
• Self-motivated with ability to work well in a collaborative environment
