Job summary

Pike Engineering is seeking a Distribution Field Technician (Maintenance) to collect field data, measure and map facilities, and support design documentation under supervision. The role involves outdoor work, using paper and digital data collection tools, cameras, GPS, and CAD systems where applicable.

The candidate should be self-motivated, able to work independently, and coordinate with senior staff to meet project milestones.

Qualifications

• Well organized in actions and written communication.
• Familiar with MS Office Suite and CAD drafting systems if applicable.
• Experience in design or line construction in a utility environment.
• Familiar with GIS systems and basic data structures preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect field data for updating facilities records or preparing design documents.
• Perform data collection, measurement, mapping, field photography, inventory, staking.
• Work with senior technicians or engineers as a design/staking assistant.
• Ensure accurate data collection using specified formats and devices.
• Learn and apply technology tools like handheld data collectors, GPS, and cameras.
• Record measurements and dimensions with appropriate standards and symbology.
• May assist in power restoration efforts during disasters.
• Meet production targets and milestones; occasional overnight travel.
