Job summary

Sterling Engineering is seeking a field data collector to support electrical utility projects in outdoor environments. You will measure attachment heights, span distances, angles, and other field data, then submit maps, notes, and digital images to the project team.

You will operate tablets, cameras, measuring tools, and PPE while representing the company professionally in the field; communicate daily with management and perform duties safely and independently.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years of experience in electrical utilities.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Capable of lifting 15–20 lbs regularly.
• Strong attention to detail and organization.

Responsibilities

• Work in outdoor environments to collect field data such as measurements.

This outdoor position involves collecting detailed technical information about utility and telecommunication facilities and equipment. The ideal candidate will be trained to perform all required duties and will support electric projects

What You’ll Do:

• Work in an outdoor environment to collect field data. This includes measurements of attachment heights, span distances, angles, etc.
• Submit organized, detailed data for each project, including maps, field notes, and digital images.
• Operate and maintain equipment such as tablet computers, digital cameras, measuring tools, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Representing the Company and our customers professionally in the field.
• Communicate effectively and daily with the management team.
• Work safely and independently without supervision.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2 years of previous experience in electrical utilities
• Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather.
• Can actively participate in physically demanding work lifting 15 to 20 lbs. on a regular basis.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
