Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 12+ years in utility locating, underground construction, pipeline ops or damage prevention.
• Experience working independently in outdoor field environments and managing multiple sites.
• Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug testing.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record and ability to operate a vehicle.
• Proficiency in mobile technology (iPad) for reporting and documentation.
• Knowledge of DataFi reporting tools preferred; MS Office experience.
• Willingness to travel within assigned territory.

Responsibilities

• Monitor excavation activities for safety within utility tolerance zones.
• Verify presence and accuracy of utility locates prior to and during excavation.
• Coordinate with contractors to schedule monitoring for high-risk work.
• Identify conflicts between excavation and underground infrastructure; elevate when needed.
• Document field observations with photos, notes, and digital reports.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and 811 safety regulations.
• Maintain detailed records of monitoring activities and site visits.
• Communicate safety concerns to supervisors and project stakeholders.
