Job summary

Colorado Parks and Wildlife in Colorado is seeking a temporary staff member to support hunter harvest data collection, sample handling for CWD testing, and customer service at licensing and park product sales.

The position requires 18+ with valid driver's license, ability to lift 50 lbs, outdoor work in all weather, weekend/evening shifts, and a willingness to drive a State fleet vehicle if assigned.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Current and valid driver’s license required.
• Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions and lift 50lbs.
• Weekend and evening work may be required.
• Hunting and fishing experience helpful.
• Applicants may be subject to successful completion of a background check.
• Must be willing and able to work 40 hours per week.
• Must be comfortable working with and handling dead animals.

Responsibilities

• Accept hunter-harvested deer and elk heads and collect data, payment and samples for CWD testing.
• Drive relay routes to transport hunter-killed wildlife from collection sites to sampling sites in all weather.
• Train on tissue sample removal for CWD testing and perform mandatory inspections of wildlife.
• Sell licenses, refunds and duplicate licenses, hunter education cards, and parks products; provide information to customers in person or by phone.
