Job summary

GRAINCO FS, Inc. in Mendota, IL is seeking a Custom Operator to apply fertilizers, crop protection products and lime under supervision. You will inspect fields and maintain equipment while keeping precise records and ensuring safety.

Responsibilities include blending products, sampling crops, managing inventories, and adhering to pesticide labels. CDL and license eligibility are required or needed within role.

Qualifications

• Previous applicator or related experience and/or training to demonstrate the ability to custom apply fertilizers, crop protection products, inspect fields, take soil samples, and do minor equipment maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Blends products according to recommended rates and procedures.
• Applies crop production inputs to fields and growing crops according to recommended rates, procedures, and following all pesticide labels.
• Records application data according to regulations and standards.
• Responsible for inventory control and turns in application records daily.
• Assures all product is accounted for with either an invoice or delivery ticket.
• Walks through fields, follows sampling patterns, and examines plants for weeds, insects or disease.
