Job summary

JGM is seeking experienced Traveling Journeyman Welders to join our field construction teams across the country. This 100% traveling role involves welding, fit‑up, and related ironwork on active industrial and commercial sites.

You will read drawings, weld in all positions, pass required tests, and travel between project sites with per diem and competitive pay. The role demands reliability, safety‑first work, and the ability to work long shifts away from home.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of structural steel welding experience in field construction.
• Ability to pass welding tests and read structural drawings/weld symbols.
• Experience with SMAW and FCAW welding processes.
• Willingness to travel 100% and work away from home on multiple projects.
• Comfortable working at heights with fall-protection procedures.

Responsibilities

• Weld structural steel on beams, columns, and connections per project specs and AWS requirements.
• Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions.
• Set up and operate welding equipment with correct electrodes, wire, amperage, and settings.
• Inspect welds for quality and defects before QC inspection.
• Pass required welder qualification tests for applicable processes and positions.
• Travel between project sites as assignments require, supporting field crews.
