Wood's Market Garden is seeking a Field Crew member for full-time seasonal work from May through October, with potential extension. The role involves harvesting, packing, transplanting, and general farm labor in a fast-paced, physically demanding setting.

Applicants should be capable of long hours outdoors, lifting heavy items, and working well in teams or independently. Wage is hourly with benefits including free produce and farmstand discounts; commitment to 5 days/week is preferred.

As a member of our Field Crew, you will be a part of a team of co-workers aiding and assisting in a wide variety of different tasks and responsibilities. We are seeking individuals ready to work efficiently in a physically demanding and fast paced environment. We are looking for applicants with leadership ability and experience, as well as motivated applicants new to farming. This is a full-time seasonal position, and preference will be given to candidates who can commit to working 5 days/week for the duration of the season.

The Field Crew is the backbone of the farm, and many of the crew members have worked at the farm for multiple seasons. As such they are very skilled, efficient, knowledgeable, and often self-sufficient in their work. The Field Crew most commonly work altogether or in smaller groups, and as such all candidates should generally be positive, easy to get along with, energetic, adaptable, and capable of clear and consistent communication.

Field Crew tasks range throughout the season, but during the height of harvest season, roughly from June through November, the Field Crew work is primarily harvesting and packing vegetables.

Responsibilities can at times be physically demanding, so all candidates must be capable of lifting heavy and awkward items, capable of performing repetitive tasks with a positive attitude and physical stamina, and able to work for long durations even in inclement weather.

• Prior experience that is applicable to this position (farming/produce) is desired but not a must

Working Hours

32 - 40 hours/week, beginning in May and lasting through October

Compensation

This position is hourly with benefits including free produce from the farm and a discount to our farmstand. Wage is commensurate with experience.
