Job summary

ERM is hiring Crew Chiefs to participate in and lead on-site cultural resource mitigation and compliance during the construction phase of transmission and distribution projects in Northern Nevada and Southern Idaho.

The role requires strong field judgment, safe work practices, and the ability to coordinate with archaeologists, project managers, and subconsultants under tight schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of Crew Chief field experience in Great Basin archaeology.
• NV Crew Chief statewide permit for prehistoric and historic required.
• Experience with infrastructure mitigation projects.
• Familiarity with Section 106, NHPA, and agency permitting.
• Proficient with GPS units and ArcGIS or similar tools.

Responsibilities

• Safely and effectively lead field teams on site.
• Follow site treatment plans; communicate changes to PI.
• Identify and document archaeological materials and assess NRHP eligibility.
• Coordinate with project managers and leads in real time.
• Maintain permit compliance and environmental commitments.
• Complete daily logs, field notes, and photographic records.
• Communicate findings and status to senior archaeologists.
• Support coordination with Native American monitors.
