Field Crane Tech-Grand Rapids, MN (Security)

MGX Field Crane Technicians are responsible for the inspection, diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of various crane equipment including mobile cranes and boom trucks. This position will report to the Bloomington, MN branch for MGX Equipment Services and reports to the Service Manager.

*Candidates hired for this role will receive a $4,500 sign-on bonus, payable after 90 days continuous service; and be eligible for our Tool Reimbursement Program of up to $1,500 per calendar year. Relocation assistance may also be available to those who qualify.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Light diagnosis, repair and troubleshooting of various mobile hydraulic and lattice cranes.
  • Capable of accomplishing tasks independently without direct supervision.
  • Perform thorough and accurate annual inspections.
  • Properly fills out working reports, hours reports, time sheets, hours overviews and expense reports.
  • Other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Crane Mechanic/Technician preferred.
  • Must have a mechanical background and related experience with electrical and hydraulics; and be able to read both electrical and hydraulic schematics.
  • Must have experience in preventative maintenance and light equipment repair (i.e. oil changes, break jobs, etc.)
  • May be required to travel to job sites and for training up to 50% of the time.
  • Excellent communication skills with a customer/client focus.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Basic computer skills preferred.
  • Experience working with different forms of mobile crane and/or heavy equipment is a plus.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

This is a full-time position with 1st shift hours. Overtime and weekend work may be possible based on business conditions.

PAY & TRAINING:

This position offers a pay range between $35.00 - $49.78 per hour depending on skills and qualifications. Pay is provided on a bi-weekly basis and there are 14 days in the pay period, beginning on a Monday and ending on a Sunday.

“This is a union-represented position with Operating Engineers Local No. 49. Compensation and working conditions are defined by the Collective Bargaining Agreement, including structured wage rates. Eligible employees receive employer-sponsored health benefits and a 401(k) plan with company contributions.”
