Job summary

The Manitowoc Company, Inc. seeks a MGX Field Crane Technician for the Lee's Summit, MO area. The role covers inspection, diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of mobile and lattice crane equipment, reporting to the Service Manager.

Eligible candidates may receive a $4,500 sign-on bonus after 90 days of continuous service and access a tool reimbursement program up to $1,500 per year. Relocation assistance may be available.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 1 year of crane mechanic/technician experience preferred.
• Mechanical background with electrical and hydraulics; ability to read electrical and hydraulic schematics.
• Experience in preventative maintenance and light equipment repair (oil changes, brake jobs, etc.).
• May travel to job sites and training up to 50% of the time.
• Excellent communication skills with a customer/client focus.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
• Basic computer skills preferred.
• Experience with different forms of mobile crane and/or heavy equipment is a plus.

Job description

MGX Field Crane Technicians are responsible for the inspection, diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of various crane equipment including mobile cranes and boom trucks. This position will be located at the Lee's Summit, branch for MGX Equipment Services and reports to the Service Manager.

*Candidates hired for this role will receive a $4,500 sign-on bonus, payable after 90 days continuous service; and be eligible for our Tool Reimbursement Program of up to $1,500 per calendar year. Relocation assistance may also be available to those who qualify.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Light diagnosis, repair and troubleshooting of various mobile hydraulic and lattice cranes.
• Capable of accomplishing tasks independently without direct supervision.
• Perform thorough and accurate annual inspections.
• Properly fills out working reports, hours reports, time sheets, hours overviews and expense reports.
• Provides excellent customer service.
• Other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Crane Mechanic/Technician preferred.
• Must have a mechanical background and related experience with electrical and hydraulics; and be able to read both electrical and hydraulic schematics.
• Must have experience in preventative maintenance and light equipment repair (i.e. oil changes, break jobs, etc.)
• May be required to travel to job sites and for training up to 50% of the time.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

This is a full-time position with typical working hours between 7:0 am to 4:00 pm. Overtime and weekend work may be possible based on business conditions.
