Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Field Operations Crane & Rigging Manager in Kansas City to oversee heavy lifting, rigging, and crane operations. You will forecast personnel/equipment needs, ensure compliance with OSHA 1926 Subpart CC and ASME B30, and lead a team of crane operators, riggers, and signal persons.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s in Construction Management or Engineering, 7 years’ experience, and NCCCO accreditation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field is required.
• NCCCO accreditation or equivalent is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of lift planning software (3D Lift Plan, CRTI) is desirable.
• Extensive knowledge of OSHA regulations (1926 Subpart CC) and ASME B30 standards.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert constructability input and strategic direction on crane selection, sizing, placement, and rigging methodologies.
• Review and approve Lift Plans, Critical Lift Plans, and complex rigging calculations for safe load handling.
• Oversee crane assembly/disassembly procedures and ensure compliance with manufacturer specs.
• Audit ground conditions and crane matting plans prior to critical lifts and ensure safety standards.
• Ensure compliance with HSES policies and company safety programs across project teams.
• Forecast staffing and equipment needs and develop utilization reports for senior management.
