Job summary

Tutor Perini Corporation in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a Field Cost Engineer to support the Metro Division 20 project in downtown LA. You will perform cost estimating, budget development, and change order activities under supervision.

A BS in Civil Engineering or Construction Management and 3–5 years of heavy civil cost/estimating experience are required. Proficiency with Excel and estimating software is expected; local candidates preferred.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering or Construction Management required.
• 3–5 years of heavy civil construction cost/estimating experience or equivalent.
• Knowledge of cost accounting and budgeting.
• Ability to read construction documents and develop scopes.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Review cost/estimating documents for accuracy and completeness.
• Develop scope of work packages for cost pricing.
• Solicit subcontractor/vendor quotations and prepare change order packages.
• Prepare price analysis sheets and evaluate subcontractor proposals.
• Coordinate with operations to support cost and schedule proposals.
• Assist with change order negotiations and finalize terms.
