Job summary

Nexus Integrity Management, LLC in Corpus Christi, TX is seeking a Corrosion Technician to monitor, inspect, and maintain cathodic protection systems and corrosion control programs for pipelines, tanks, and related infrastructure.

You will perform field surveys, collect data, run CIS and DCVG tests, document findings, and collaborate with engineers and contractors to ensure compliance with NACE, DOT, and API standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (required); associate’s degree or technical certification in corrosion, materials science, or related field (preferred).
• NACE certification (e.g., CP1, CP2, or CIP) is highly desirable.
• 2+ years of relevant field experience in corrosion prevention or cathodic protection.
• Strong understanding of corrosion mechanisms and mitigation techniques.
• Ability to read technical drawings and maps (e.g., pipeline alignment sheets).
• Proficiency with corrosion testing equipment and data logging tools.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to field sites.

Responsibilities

• Install, monitor, and maintain cathodic protection systems (e.g., impressed current and galvanic systems).
• Conduct pipeline and facility inspections for signs of corrosion and coating deterioration.
• Perform CIS, DCVG, and other diagnostic testing.
• Record and analyze corrosion data, prepare reports, and recommend corrective actions.
• Assist in internal and external corrosion control programs including chemical treatment monitoring and mitigation.
• Calibrate and maintain corrosion monitoring equipment.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes (e.g., NACE, DOT, API) and company policies.
• Support pipeline integrity management and risk assessment activities.
• Work closely with engineers, field personnel, and third-party contractors.
