Responsibilities
Closely communicate and coordinate activities with the union organizers and contributing employers to ensure awareness, readiness and input into sector activities
Develop, maintain and coordinate labor-management committee meetings with bargaining parties, and participate in supporting implementation of grant/non-grant funded projects
Source and scope out new program development within and across TEF departments
Market and promote education, career, employment, academic advisement, and encourage engagement in programs
Recruit, enroll, case manage program participants, and coordinate document collection from students and program graduates as assigned
Prepare/process vendor schedules/payments and coordinate for quality outcomes for grant and non-grant funded programs
Create pre-obligation for contracts and monitor budgets
Review programs for appropriate workflows coordinating with education, member services, and strategy and innovation areas.
Support registration of employment applicants and education program participants
Prepare and deliver presentations to workers, employers, union staff and workforce partners
Participate in writing project reports and create pre-obligation for contracts and monitor budgets
Research appropriate vendors, negotiate service agreements /contracts, and evaluate program outcomes to meet program, service and/or projects are delivered and goals are achieved
Collect and analyze participant data, perform quality control prior to processing and oversee program logistics
Share findings and take actions as needed to support program participants, collect feedback and collect and report complaints to supervisor
Perform additional duties and projects as assigned by management
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Counseling or equivalent years of experience required
Minimum five (5) years’ experience handling workforce development programs, higher education, healthcare, training, career counseling or labor management programs required
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Excellent knowledge of adult education principles, best practices, career/educational pathways and group facilitation/dynamics; experience with health care or unions highly preferred
Strong written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal, leadership and teamwork skills; able to maintain strong partnerships with Union and employer partners in order to ensure training projects are implemented successfully
Excellent presentation and organizational skills; ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work under pressure
Must be able to travel to various sites in New York Metropolitan area (including Long Island and Westchester County as needed)
Available to work flexible hours including some evenings and Saturdays as required
