Job description

We are adding someone who takes pride in working with their hands and doesn’t mind getting dirty. This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position spent almost entirely outdoors, with very little time behind a desk. You’ll be embedded with a high-performing team working onsite.

As a Field Coordinator, you’ll be immersed in the day-to-day realities of construction, learning by doing and building a strong foundation in both the trades and field supervision. Over time, you’ll develop a working knowledge of the core disciplines that drive our projects, including earthwork, concrete, mechanical piping, and mechanical equipment installation.

In addition to hands-on trade exposure, you’ll gain an understanding of how key subcontractors contribute to the success of complex water and wastewater projects. This includes working alongside and coordinating with teams specializing in electrical systems, instrumentation and controls (I&C), and HVAC. The goal is to develop not just technical skills, but a well-rounded perspective on how all components come together to deliver a successful project in the field.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in field coordination, project management, or a related role.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds is required.
  • Ability to work outside and perform manual labor

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management
  • Experience doing manual labor in the construction industry
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance standards relevant to fieldwork.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform hands-on construction work and learn basic trade skills
  • Support the Superintendent with daily field operations
  • Assist with layout, quantity takeoffs, and work planning
  • Help coordinate subcontractor activities and ensure they are working off current plans
  • Track materials, tools, and equipment on site
  • Assist with maintaining jobsite organization and safety compliance
  • Support documentation including as-builts, lookahead schedules, and reports
  • Communicate with field teams to identify and resolve issues
  • Assist with quality control checks and identifying additional work

Skills:

  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
  • Ability to work in a team and take direction
  • Basic understanding of construction operations
  • Good communication and organization skills
  • Ability to adapt and problem solve in the field
