Job summary

Hanson Professional Services Inc. is seeking a Construction Engineering Technician with civil construction experience to perform construction observation in the IL area.

This role will monitor paving, drainage, utilities, lighting, structures and site development during construction at airports and other transportation projects. Travel within Illinois is required, with potential overtime based on project needs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 3 years in construction observation and materials testing.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Experience with IDOT projects is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Represent owner in monitoring construction activities for compliance with plans and specifications.
• Perform and/or oversee onsite construction materials testing.
• Coordinate and communicate field construction activities with contractor and designers.
• Assist engineers/designers with developing plans and specifications, including cost estimates, quantities and constructability reviews.
