Job summary

Higley Construction is seeking a Project Superintendent to oversee a major project and coordinate with the Project Manager and Owner in the field. This field position involves supervising subcontractors, scheduling materials and labor, inspecting quality, and ensuring safety while maintaining strong client relationships.

The ideal candidate will have a four-year degree in engineering or construction management or related experience, with 5+ years of construction experience.

Qualifications

• Holds at least a four-year engineering, construction management or construction-related degree or equivalent trade experience.
• Engineering certifications such as a PE, and industry certifications from organizations (OSHA, CMAA, ASHE, USGBC) are a plus.
• Has at least five (5) years of construction experience with increasing responsibility on construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate delivering work results that exceed profitability, schedule, quality, safety, and client relationship goals.
• Demonstrate high ratings for client satisfaction, safety performance and project execution on projects led.
• Build a professional network to learn about future opportunities and help secure future business.
• Write trade-specific scopes of work for bidding and subcontracting purposes.
• Identify risks and requirements within owner contracts and manage projects with those risks in mind.
• Understand quality control requirements and common pitfalls of different construction types.
• Read and help resolve disputes with a constructive approach.
• Foster a culture where team members and consultants think creatively and solve problems.
• Establish project schedules with milestones and manage stakeholders for on-time performance.
• Coordinate with project engineers and supervise them daily.
• Handle difficult project situations responsibly.
• Coordinate all field activities with subcontractors, suppliers, governing agencies, and design team.
• Instill a safety culture per Higley Construction’s plan and enforce it.
• Participate in OAC and Subcontractor meetings and run foreman/subcontractor meetings.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
