Job summary

Chevron Phillips Chemical is seeking a Construction Specialist for the Golden Triangle Polymers facility in Orange, TX. This role supports the day‑to‑day field execution of site‑managed capital projects, coordinating construction activities and collaborating with contractors and site stakeholders.

The successful candidate will lead field activities, ensure safety, quality, and schedule adherence, and build productive relationships with operations and vendors while modeling ICARE principles in

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 5 years in construction project execution.
• 5+ years of project controls experience (e.g. SAP, Tracks).
• 5+ years of construction field support with increasing responsibility.
• Experience reading construction drawings including mechanical flow diagrams, piping isometrics, and plot plans.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe execution of work and support safety culture in construction.
• Support development and maintenance of collaborative safety culture with contractors.
• Supports IFA reviews, project walkdowns, constructability reviews and kick-off meetings.
• Ability to understand and communicate critical path and execution.
• Ensure construction planning/scheduling progresses per plan and adapt as needed.
• Guide small to medium teams to deliver project scope within budget and timeline constraints.
• Proactively identify risks and escalate issues outside the scope of authority.
• Attend working sessions with stakeholders to gather feedback and refine requirements.
• Maintain issue/action logs for timely resolution throughout the project lifecycle.
• Facilitate productivity audits / field walks with vendors and constructability reviews.
• Accountable for delivering project controls needs, headcount, timesheets and invoice approvals.
• Seek opportunities to reduce risk, share resources, and optimize time.
• Communicate progress and concerns clearly with project leadership and contractors.
