Job summary

Northern Plains Contracting, Inc. seeks a Construction Superintendent to oversee daily on-site operations, manage field personnel, coordinate subcontractors, and ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.

You will serve as the lead on-site manager, coordinating with the project manager in the office and ensuring compliance with plans, specs, and local codes. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ construction industry experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Demonstrated strong decision making and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to travel and stay away from home when required.
• Compliance with OSHA and other federal regulations.
• Basic understanding of construction principles.
• Willingness to learn and adapt with on-site crews.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all on-site construction activities from start to finish.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, and crews.
• Monitor project schedules and meet deadlines.
• Read and interpret blueprints, specs, and construction documents.
• Enforce OSHA and company safety policies on the job site.
• Conduct site inspections to ensure quality and compliance.
• Schedule material deliveries, equipment usage, and workforce needs.
• Resolve on-site issues, delays, and conflicts quickly.
• Maintain daily reports, progress logs, and project documentation.
• Communicate with project managers, engineers, architects, and clients.
• Manage inspections and ensure compliance with building codes and regulations.
• Track productivity, labor costs, and project progress.
