Job summary

MEI Industrial Solutions in Southbridge, MA, is seeking a General Laborer to support field operations and perform hands-on work with forms, rigging, and material handling. This full-time role requires manual labor, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work with diverse crews on active job sites.

The position involves operating hand and power tools, assisting with scaffolding, and coordinating with other workers to move and secure loads.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred, or industry related experience.
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Ability to lift and/or move 50 pounds or more.
Ability to operate equipment such as jackhammer, laser level, mini-excavator, and skid steer.
Ability to communicate and work closely with co-workers and contractors.
Learn, know and follow all safety requirements.

Responsibilities

Build and install forms for framing, concrete, or brace/support items being readied for transport.
Spot, signal, or verbally direct workers engaged in hoisting and moving loads to ensure safety.
Test rigging to ensure safety and reliability.
Attach loads to rigging to provide support or prepare them for moving.
Select appropriate gear such as cables, pulleys, or winches according to load weights and site restrictions.
May assist with controlled movement of heavy equipment through narrow openings or confined spaces.
