Job summary

JF Petroleum Group in Norfolk, VA is seeking a Construction Installer Level 1 (Construction Helper) to support field crews on refinery and fueling infrastructure projects. The role involves helping set up equipment, carrying tools, and assisting crew leads on site.

Work is outdoors in all weather, with travel up to 50–60% and after-hours as needed. Must read blueprints, lift up to 50 lbs, and pass drug screen and background checks. Competitive pay and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Highschool Diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Direct heavy equipment operators from the ground during excavation operations.
• Operate small equipment, such as a skid steer loader.
• Cut and thread steel pipe and assist in fitting and installation of underground and above-ground tanks.
• Assist the foreman with shooting grades and documentation.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized job site per the foreman's direction.
• Ensure all signs and safety barricades and devices are in place.
• Comply with all safety requirements, including PPE usage.
• Ensure all tools are accounted for, cleaned, and organized on the truck or job trailer.
• Keep the job inventory accurate.
• Work will include after-hours.
• Able to work in all weather conditions; significant portion outdoors.
• Willing to travel, up to 50-60% of the time.
