Job summary

Aqua, an Essential Utilities company, is seeking a Construction Inspector to oversee water and wastewater capital projects, ensuring compliance with specifications and safety standards. You will document progress, manage records, and communicate with the project team daily.

Requirements include a High School Diploma, potential Associate degree, PA DEP Class E license (or within 24 months), a valid driver’s license, and willingness to travel including overnight stays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of technical education beyond high school preferred (Associates in Construction Technology or related field).
• In lieu of two years, two years of relevant experience may be considered.
• Candidate must have construction inspection experience and strong organizational and communication skills.
• Proficiency in interpreting design drawings and using AQUA programs such as GIS, AIMS, Procore, etc.
• Must maintain PA DEP Class E license or obtain within 24 months from date of hire.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for overtime.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and monitor outside contractors on water/wastewater capital projects per company specs.
• Ensure adherence to safety programs and OSHA regulations on construction sites.
• Maintain and file record drawings and as-built updates.
• Keep daily inspection reports and track quantities installed.
• Verify contractor payment requests and assist in negotiations as needed.
• Review construction plans for omissions and constructability issues.
• Communicate project status to supervisor daily and engage with stakeholders.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Overtime travel may be required, including overnight stays.
