Job summary

Geo-Technology Associates, Inc. (GTA) is seeking full-time Construction Inspectors for our Columbus, OH office. Primary responsibilities include observing and documenting construction activities to assure compliance with specifications and testing soils, concrete, and asphalt as part of daily work.

A reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license are required; the job involves standing, lifting up to 80 pounds, and outdoor work. Overtime is common with overtime pay at 1.5x; mileage is reimbursed.

Qualifications

• Reliable vehicle and valid driver's license required.
• Physical ability to carry equipment >50 lbs on uneven ground.
• High school diploma or GED with good writing and math skills.
• Experience in roadway construction is preferred but not required.
• One or more certifications (NICET/ACI/APNGA/NETTCP/ICC/FPO) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Observe and document construction activities to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Monitor and test soils moisture and density using a nuclear gauge.
• Test concrete for slump, air content and unit weight.
• Test asphalt for temperature and compaction.
• Assist laboratory and drilling personnel as requested.
• Use civil drawings and geotechnical reports effectively.
• Complete daily reports, testing documents, timesheets and expense reports on time.
• Handle and maintain company equipment.
