Job summary
City and County of Honolulu seeks a Construction Inspector in Honolulu to perform on-site field inspections for permitted construction and infrastructure projects, including grading and erosion control. You will inspect trenching, street restoration, drainage, sewer, pavements, sidewalks and ADA, and investigate complaints related to grading and trenching.
Candidates need two years of inspection experience and a high school diploma, plus a valid driver’s license; benefits include generous time
Qualifications
- Two years of experience inspecting or supervising construction work.
- Equivalent to graduation from high school; substitutions permitted.
- Valid driver’s license required.
Responsibilities
- Conducts independent field inspections for permitted construction and infrastructure projects.
- Inspects grading and erosion control; issues compliance notices and tracks corrective actions.
- Reviews trenching and street restoration work, including reinspections and warranty checks.
- Inspects subdivision and frontage improvements (drainage, sewer, pavements, sidewalks, ADA, traffic markings).
- Investigates complaints and ordinance issues related to grading and trenching.
