City and County of Honolulu is hiring three Assistant Construction Inspectors in the Wastewater Engineering and Construction Division to inspect sewer line installations and appurtenances for compliance with plans, specs, and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities include inspecting construction work, monitoring activities such as grading and backfill, preparing inspection reports, and verifying progress for contractor payments. Field work and occasional travel to sites are expected.

Department of Environmental Services, Wastewater Engineering and Construction Division, is looking to fill three (3) Assistant Construction Inspector positions. The position inspects various phases of wastewater construction projects that involve the installation of sewer lines and appurtenances to assure compliance with plans, specifications, and other contractual agreements. The position also inspects work for compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, including but not limited to, those imposed by the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES).
(SR-16) salary of $5,359 per month includes shortage differential.

Equivalent to a high school education. Responsible work experience which demonstrated the ability to perform the essential functions of the job may be substituted for education.
One (1) year of experience in inspecting or supervising construction work.
Examples of Qualifying Experience: Inspectors, superintendents, trades supervisors, working trades supervisors, etc.with experience of such scope, level and responsibilityas to conclusively demonstrate the ability to perform the duties ofthe position.
The education requirement must be met at the time of application. Education obtained outside of the United States must be comparable to a degree earned at an accredited college/university in the United States. In order to receive credit for the education, proper documentation, e.g., a foreign credential evaluation (FCE), must be provided.
